Are your ads to spec?

Filed under: Thoughts — Buckyben @ 6:42 am

An unfortunate trend recently has been in the direction of not optimizing. Use a png, maybe 2. Let’s push it through! Bling blang. Does it work? Is it hot? Maybe, but it looks good locally. Does it steal information from a user? Does it track a users movements? How much, and what? Is it geo-targeted? Can we do that? Well, if not one notices…

The art of production is in reduction for many people and for many creative shops, it’s been ok in the ad realm, media buys large k size atlas and dc motif. Let’s push it out. Well does the IAB like that? They r back tot he lowest common denominator. Privacy is at the front, but so is a goal of finding a standardization ofr publisher specs. Man where are the specs. it’s a long running issue. Are your publisher specs in the IAB database? Any where else? With a vender? What’s next for all this wacky stuff in the ad world. It’s just gonna metathesizes and more issues will unravel. It’s inevitable. Vender’s, search engines, word, etc. What is fair game and ground. It’s all blending together. And the content in many places is becoming ad space’? What. Yeah. Content is the new ad. yum.
